Region 417 Short-sided Matches AYSO Wins National Leadership Award Award Recognizes AYSO's Service To Young Athletes AYSO has received the National Leadership Award from the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) for creating a positive environment for youth athletes through AYSO's five philosophies and programs such as Safe Haven™ and Kids Zone™. AYSO is only the second winner of this honor in the eight-year history of the awards. AYSO will be honored during PCA's Annual National Youth Sports Awards Ceremony at Stanford University's Maples Pavilion on Friday, April 24. New Coaching Certification/Training Policy Policy Goes Into Effect Next Month (August 1, 2009) The new AYSO coach certification/training policy will go into effect August 1. The new policy requires all AYSO coaches and assistant coaches who wish to coach in the National Games, concurrent secondary play competitions or nationally sanctioned AYSO tournaments be trained at the level of the team they coach.
