AYSO 417 (Tri-County Soccer)

 Dare to Compare  -- FOR THOSE WILLING TO TAKE A CLOSER LOOK 

It has been an exciting year in 2009 as our name “Tri-County Soccer” from the merger of AYSO 417 and local travel program gains more name branding within the communities. In fact, Tri-County Soccer is known beyond the local community as a maverick region in piloting a program for better serving the community with full service soccer offerings at a fraction of the expenses.   Whether the player is new to soccer or a skilled player, Tri-County Soccer offers an opportunity to compete at those various levels with the opportunity of professional and licensed trainers.

 

With the addition of the U5 Program, we are introducing soccer to 90 players even earlier.   While heading back to a multiple referee team program to ensure development and mentoring is in the third year. Both programs are generating excitement as we continue to improve the offerings within the communities. 

 

The developmental (AYSO Recreational Program) and travel soccer programs continue to grow over time. While the developmental program maintains the numbers, the travel program has grown from 12 teams to 28 teams. Four of the travel teams playing Michigan State Premier Soccer Program have won their divisions with the last few years. Many of our travel teams continue to be highly competitive at the top of their divisions in one of the best travel leagues (WSSL) within the state of Michigan. 

 

The training program (Justin Detter, Lou Kisic and Shaun Murphy) our team of trainers that further develop players and coaches has grown with our growth. The training team host summer soccer camp with 90 to 110 participants. Also, this summer, Justin plans to coordinate a college recruitment combine for the girls. Twenty percent of the attendees received recognition and possible communication once their NCAA clearing house commitments were met.   From the last four years, over 40 players from the Tri-County Soccer program have continued their soccer careers beyond travel soccer or high school. 

The Very Important Player (VIP) program continues to be a positive growth program in offering a program to the special needs players.   The TCS VIPers team traveled to neighboring Grand Blanc AYSO Region to share in an interplay game, where the only bragging rights were that these players are having FUN. Also, Linden High School schedules a half-time match on the varsity soccer field under the lights, players being announced over the public address system and the Linden Varsity team cheering them on. What an evening and experience for these VIPer players.

 

Adult programs that run from late June to mid-August continue to be well attended programs, fluctuating between 90 to 120 adult player participants. As the adult program is being recognized as an offering that has been part of our program for the last six years.

 

 

Tri-County Soccer (AYSO Region 417) volunteers are committed to providing a full service soccer offering to a majority of the community members interested in soccer.   Without this commitment to serve the community, it would not be possible to be a top performing region and to receive the “Platinum Award” for the past five straight years. Thank you to all that make Tri-County Soccer a growth factor in an economic depressed environment within our communities.


When we formed Tri-County Soccer

On February 17, 2003, AYSO Region 417 and the Fenton Area Soccer Club merged and became Tri-County Soccer.  The combined organization will provide both recreational and travel soccer opportunities for youth and adults in the Fenton, Lake Fenton, and Linden area utilizing primarily the resources found within our communities.  The new organization is affiliated with the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) and the Michigan State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA). Tri-County Soccer has over 1200 youth players and over 300 volunteers within the new organization.
